last night was student night for street scenes & my job was to patrol the 700 hall with a colleague … not much happening … mostly just roving herds of sixth seventh eighth graders … wandering down the hall to find only one official room open … at the far end … a student band - some kind of cave metal (what? megadeath? system of a down? & did i hear a bit of pixies in the mix?) … but halfway down the hall an oldies group (fleetwood mac, blondie … ?) was practicing with their door part-open …
