at some point … at some time … it seems to me … the phrase “thanks for sharing” shifted …
used to be that one could not speak the words with any authenticity … one had to smirk them … snicker them … lather on the irony … in saying thanks for sharing that …
it’s a low tolerance for therapy-talk … as in “I hear you saying that you want to rip out my eyeballs and feed them to your komodo dragon … thanks for sharing that” … you know … inauthentic
but now online they seem to have become very direct and heartfelt words … as folks we don’t know share their talents and insights and treasure (could this be a future candidate for scorn?) and … or am i just kidding myself?
but what else is one to say when another puts something remarkable online for us to see or hear or think about? as those to whom i link over there to the right have done … what else to say?
