1. How am I living in allegiance to Jesus Christ? Am I communicating anything?

2. How does our community live in allegiance to Jesus Christ? What are we communicating?

3. What part of one’s mind or soul runs in terror from the language of these questions?

4. When did one decide to stop speaking that name in public? And why would one?

5. How have one and many poisoned the air, sea, land, and the halls of power with a wrong use of that name?

6. Can one become … will one even try … will one go on … trying … ?

The expression “to live in allegiance to Jesus Christ” mirrors the great truth that Jesus is the Lord of my life and that I commit myself to live his values according to the lights he grants me.

7. What might anyone see as one passes through that offered door … the lights he grants me?

8. Will one persist in ravelling & unravelling this ancient sign?

took a break this afternoon to modestly admire the front flowers …

i know it doesn’t look like much … but this is the first year in over a decade that anything other than weeds has grown in that left-side bed … this year it’s nasturtiums … & i’d had my doubts … they sprouted slowly & seemed to stop growing altogether in august … then i guess they decided to get real in the past three weeks … and they actually kinda sorta are living up to what i’d hoped for … you know, the garden in my head … how infrequently that matches the garden in the ground that we actually get …

when i got up close, i found this little fellow …

it looks this this ONE is back in business … i guess i’ll stick with it … but THE OTHER ONE is up & active too … maybe i’ll double-post for a while … i could use the other one for that montaigne project … or i could split myself into three parts … poetry blog … teacher blog … person blog … but i like/need fuzzy borders … seem unable to avoid them … since i’m a poetteacherperson anyway … (&, at least in the world of making, blurred boundaries - a la n piombino - are the most fertile spots) … what’s a poor old boy to do?

now … back to those papers
